"One of the greatest feelings in life is the conviction that you have
lived the life you wanted to live--with the rough and the smooth, the good and
the bad--but yours, shaped by your own choices, and not someone else's."

On Working With Teenagers

In case I haven't mentioned it lately; I am a social worker.
(so that's not my official title but that is basically what I do so to keep it simple that's what I tell people)
I am a social worker that works primarily with teenage girls in the foster care system.
Have I told you about the joy it brings me?
I do love my job.  And I do love my kids.

But honestly. Sometimes they can drive me crazy.
In case you need proof, I give you a portion of a phone call I received one afternoon from one of my kids.

D:  "Ms. M I got another cell phone taken away again."

Me (in not so nice, not so patient tone):  "D!  You just got two cell phones taken away from you!  And I asked you yesterday when I saw you if you had another one!...."

D:  "Ms. M!  I didn't have one then!  I bought it after you left!

Crazy I tell you.
Crazy.
And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Wishing you a career that drives you CRAZY~
~M~
